Not only is it super tasty but it is also much better for you than grocery store almond milk that contains many additives and preservatives. I will definitely be making my own from now on. This recipe contains only 4 simple ingredients and is also very healthy and nourishing for your body.
I’ve seen people use cheese cloths to create nut milk which can get messy and difficult. - 2 cups almonds
- 2 pitted dates
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5 cups water
- Soak your almonds in water for about 8-12 hours. Then drain and rinse.
- Add almonds, dates, vanilla extract and water to blender and blend for about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into a large nut bag (or cheese cloth) and squeeze all of the liquid out. (You can use left over almond pieces for other recipes)

It is best to soak your almonds overnight for at least 8-12 hours to make it easier to blend and remove extra fat. You can you a regular blender or a high speed blender to cut down on time. I just used a regular one by Cuisinart and that worked just fine. The almond milk has a shelf life of about 4-5 days in the refrigerator and it is best to shake it up before each use as it can separate when it has been sitting for long.
